Various Roof Systems and Applications:
Shingles
Shingles are by far the best performing application for steep-sloped roofs. Today they come in a wide variety of dimensional styles, sizes, designer colors and warranties ranging from 20 – lifetime.
Roof shingles are a roof covering consisting of individual overlapping elements. These elements are typically flat rectangular shapes laid in rows from the bottom edge of the roof up, with each successive higher row overlapping the joints in the row below.
Shingles are made of various materials each with their own characteristics. Consult with Texas XS Roofing for additional information.
Flat Roofs
There are several applications for low-slope roof systems. Listed below are some designed and specified to meet a broad range of waterproofing needs.
*Built-Up Roofing – oldest & most reliable.
*Modified Bitumen – superior waterproofing characteristics.
*EPDM Roof Systems – a very stable membrane that can withstand & resist any type of nature-born stress.
*TPO / PVC – excellent weathering characteristics & are highly resistant to ultraviolet light and chemicals.Single-Ply
The class of commercial roofing membranes commonly described as “single-ply” are flexible sheets of compounded synthetic materials that are manufactured in a factory to strict quality control requirements.
Single ply roof systems provide strength, flexibility, and long-lasting durability. The inherent advantages of pre-fabricated sheets are the consistency of the quality of the products that are manufactured, the versatility in their attachment methods, and therefore, their broader applicability.
